Johnson County takes over No. 1 spot in NJCAA Baseball Poll
– For the second time in the 51-year history of the Johnson County Community College baseball program is the No. 1-ranked team in the country. The Cavaliers took over the top spot in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Poll Monday afternoon, jumping up from No. 3. JCCC was also ranked No. 1 during the 2015 season.
Cavaliers complete sweep of Labette to reach 40 wins on the season
The No. 3-ranked Johnson County baseball team competed a four-game series sweep over Labette on Saturday afternoon, winning 14-4 and 11-0. The opened the series on Thursday with wins over 11-1 and 11-2. Johnson County has scored in double figures in seven straight games and eight of the last nine.
Aspen Burgardt breaks JCCC softball single season home runs record
Johnson County freshman infielder Aspen Burgardt stands alone atop the JCCC single-season home run record books. She entered play Saturday afternoon tied for the lead with 18 set by Krista Cummings in 2008.
Cavaliers take first two games of series with Labette
– The No. 3-ranked Johnson County baseball team Improved to 38-8 on the season and 20-2 in conference play taking the first two games in the four-game series with Labette by the scores of 11-1 and 11-2.
JCCC’s Brewer makes Prep Baseball Report JUCO Midseason Top-100 list
Johnson County Community College designated hitter/infielder Dagen Brewer was among the top-100 players to make the Prep Baseball Report midseason list. The sophomore out of Topeka, Kan., was tabbed the 29th best player through the halfway point of the 2024 season.
