Five Johnson County athletic teams earn NJCAA academic honors

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Five of Johnson County Community College's seven athletic teams appeared on the 2018-19 NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year list.                                                                                     

The women's soccer team compiled a department leading 3.43 grade point average, which tied them for 10th nationally. 

The volleyball team was second-best at JCCC with a 3.38 GPA, followed by baseball at 3.24, softball at 3.10 and men's soccer 3.01. 

Twenty-eight Johnson County student-athletes were awarded All-Academic honors amongst the NJCAA's 6,656 student-athletes earning a spot on one of three NJCAA All-Academic teams.
