
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Sixteen Johnson County Community College student-athletes (6 male, 10 female) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2025 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's College Division At-Large Teams this week.
The six male student-athletes were Ryker Edwards, Josiah Golden, Jake McClure, Sam Novotny and Easton Roe of the baseball team and Brandon Mann of the basketball team.
The 10 female representatives were Emily Crosby, Montana-Rose Currey, Jenna Knight, Karsen Koehler and Sydney Puetz of the soccer team, Aspen Burgardt, Izzy Carter, Jaylee Jefferson and Jalin Lavers of the softball team and Kennedy Smalley of the volleyball team.
All 16 student-athletes advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot for a national vote with winners announced later in July. In the six-year existence of the CSC Academic All-America® program at the college division, Johnson County has produced eight Academic All-Americans: Dylan Bierman (Baseball-2019), Georgia Vernardakis (Women's Soccer-2019), Rylie Barnum (Volleyball-2020), Gracie LaForge (Volleyball-2021), Alan Lopez (Men's Soccer-2023), Jaydyn Troutman (Volleyball-2023), Jordan Harrison (Softball-2023), Maggie McNally (Softball-2024). Harrison was also selected the College Division recipient of the CSC Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year award in 2023.
CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team selections were required to have posted a 3.50 or better GPA, completed at least two semesters at their current school, played in at least half their team's competitions, and be considered a starter or key contributor.
