Associate Athletic Trainer

Jonathon Lovercamp, a native of Lockwood, Missouri, begins his third year at Johnson County Community College and Cavalier Athletics. Jon is brought to us via PT Solutions Physical Therapy.

In his two years at JCCC, Lovercamp saw two teams finish in the top five nationally, and was part of three region championships and two conference championships.

Lovercamp comes to us from Barton Community College, where he served as the Assistant Athletic Trainer.  Prior to Barton, Lovercamp spent time at Kansas State University working with the Equestrian team and at Lamar University working with the football team and helping with the Men’s and Women’s Tennis and Golf teams.

A Fall 2009 Sterling College graduate, Lovercamp won the Warrior Award for Team Leadership as a member of the football team. Following his graduation at Sterling, Lovercamp completed an Internship at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports, with sports coverage ranging from soccer to gymnastics and wrestling to baton twirling.

During the summer months, Lovercamp has worked for and been involved with Varsity Spirit Inc., a nationally recognized Cheer and Dance Company.  Working camps across the country and events including the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day parade in 2011 and NYC Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in 2012, working all National’s/Championship events at Disney in 2013 (several showcased on ESPN), winning the Veteran of the Year and Raving Fan Awards in 2013, and getting selected to cover the London New Years Eve parade in 2014.
