
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference recently announced the 2025 NJCAA All-Region 6 baseball team and the recipients of the KJCCC/Rawlings Gold Glove awards.
The reigning KJCCC East Division and Region 6 champion Johnson County Community College Cavaliers were well-represented on both teams. Sophomore outfielder Bo Shinkle, the 2025 East Jayhawk MVP, and third baseman Carter Kelley were selected a first-team All-Region 6 and each were two of the 10 players selected as Gold Glove winners.
Joining them on the All-Region 6 first-team were sophomore second baseman Jake McClure and freshman pitcher Denton Biller. Sophomore catcher Miken Miller earned second-team accolades.
Shinkle is batting average at .400 (74-or-185) with 13 doubles, five triples, six home runs, 44 walks, 32 stolen bases, 80 runs scored and 56 driven in. He leads the team in runs scored. steals and walks, is tied for the lead in average and triples, and is third in hits and RBI. He ranks first in the conference in runs and walks, tied for first in triples, second in stolen bases, third in batting average, fourth in hits. Shinkle has produced 20 multiple-hit games, highlighted by a five-hit effort against Neosho County, and 15 multiple-RBI games. His five-hit game tied a school record. Twice during the season Shinkle was selected as the KJCCC East Division Player of the Week, earning he honors in weeks six and seven. As fielder, Shinkle recorded 75 putouts without making an error.
Kelley is batting .353 (53-for-150) with seven doubles, a triple, nine home runs, 44 runs scored and 46 driven in. He is tied for 10th in the conference in home runs. Kelley has produced 14 multiple-hit and 14 multiple-RBI games. In the final week of the season, Kelley was a one-man wrecking crew in a sweep over Fort Scott, particularly the final two games. In the final road doubleheader Kelley was 5-for-8 with four home runs, five runs scored and seven RBI. In the first two games he had three hits including a triple and drove in four runs. Playing the hot corner, Kelly recorded 52 putouts and 72 assists with just three errors for a fielding percentage of .972.
McClure is batting .396 (86-for-217) with 13 doubles, two triples, 33 walks, 21 stolen bases, 73 runs scored and 39 RBI. He leads the team and conference and 11th in the NJCAA with his 86 hits. He also ranks third in the conference in runs, fourth in average, tied for fifth in walks, tied for sixth in steals. He leads the team with 26 multiple-hit games, which has him tied for ninth all-time in team history, and eight multiple-RBI games.
Biller has made 14 appearances in the bump, all starts, and has an unblemished record of 10-0. He has struck out 63 batters over 61 innings with an ERA of 3.69. He also has held opposing hitters to a .213 average. Biller's 10 victories tie for second in the conference and tie for eighth on JCCC's season chart. In the 13th week of the season, Biller was selected the KJCCC East Division Pitcher of the week after picking up two wins against Baker and Coffeyville.
Miller is hitting at a .371 clip (75-for-202) with 19 doubles, five triples, six home runs, 23 walks, 52 runs scored and 61 RBI. He leads the team doubles, extra base hits (30) and RBI, and ranks tied for second in hits and triples. Miller ranks tied for first in the conference in triples, second in doubles, third in hits, fifth in RBI and extra base hits. Miller has produced 23 multiple-hit and 17 multiple-RBI games, both second-most the squad. His 19 doubles tie for ninth-most in a season at JCCC. In the 11th week this season, Miller was chosen the KJCCC East Division Player of the Week after batting .533 with two doubles, three home runs, eight runs and 12 RBI in a four-game sweep over Neosho County.
