OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 8 Johnson County Community College men's basketball team (21-3/4-0) turned a two-point halftime lead over Hesston College (10-13/0-4) into an 18-point victory, and a big second half effort. Johnson County outscored the Larks 42-26 for a 76-58 final, and secured sole possession of first place in the conference standings. The victory also was the Cavaliers 17th straight conference win dating back to Jan. 23, 2017, a 71-57 loss at Highland. 

Sophomore forward David Turner led the way with a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the season. Turner was 6-of-7 shooting and 2-of-2 at the line. He also blocked three shots upping his season total to 62, second in the NJCAA. 

Freshman forward Isiah Sears also poured in 14 points and added six boards, and sophomore guard Nick Larkin flirted with a double-double finishing with 13 points and nine assists. He also had seven rebounds 

Starting guards JaQuaylon Mays and General Williams, and reserves Berlin Roberson and Lukas Milner all finished with six points. 

The Larks Grant Harding and Cal Hartley were their team's leading scorers posting 14 and 13 points respectively.
