OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – With just two game remaining in the regular season, the Johnson County Community College men's soccer team's quest for a conference title remained a possibility with a 2-1 win at Coffeyville Community College Wednesday night.

The Cavaliers (5-1-2) are in second place behind Cowley College (7-1-1) in the Kansas Jayhawk Conference East Division.  Johnson County can secure the conference championship with wins at Neosho County on Saturday, Oct. 19, and at home against Cowley on Monday, Oct. 21.  Should that scenario play out, the Cavaliers would finish conference play at 7-1-2 (.800), and Cowley would be at 7-2-1 (.750).

In the win at Coffeyville, Johnson County tallied both scores in the first half. Sophomore forward Brad Tulley scored his fifth goal of the season in the 31st minute off an assist from freshman midfielder Manuel Escobedo

Eight minutes later JCCC went up 2-nil when Tulley found sophomore midfielder Marcos Vinicius for his second score of the year.

Sophomore goalkeeper Pedro Ivaskoski stopped all eight shots he faced, but with seven minutes, he suffered an injury, and was replaced by freshman Wiley Kirk.  Shortly after, the Red Ravens Wallace Prada Da  Germano got the ball in open space and fired a shot to cut JCCC's lead in half.  Kirk faced one more shot and made the save to secure the Cavaliers' 2-1 victory.
