OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The eighth-ranked Johnson County Community College women's basketball team improved to 2-0 on the season with an 80-72 home victory over North Central Missouri College, Saturday afternoon, Nov. 2.

Sophomore forward KK Jackson-Morris scored 14 of her season-high 17 points in the second half, 10 coming in the final quarter, to help the Lady Cavaliers extend their four-point third quarter lead to an eight-point win. 

Jackson-Morris hit 7-of-16 shots, including two 3-pointers, and added four rebounds, two assists and two steals. 

Indiana State sophomore transfer Krystal Rice also finished with 17 points. She was 6-of-17 from the field, with three treys, and 2-of-2 at the line.  Rice also led the team with five assists and pulled down five rebounds. 

Sophomore guard Dallie Hoskinson, who had a career breakout game in the season opener with 20 points, poured in 14 against the Lady Pirates. She was 5-of-8 shooting with a 3-pointer, and 3-of-4 at the charity stripe. She also had five rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Also finishing in double digits were freshman starting forward LaJahda Boyland with 12 points and freshman reserve guard Jaylen Townsend with 11. Townsed also led the Lady Cavaliers with eight rebounds. 

Johnson County's next three game are on the road. They to Beatrice, Neb., on Tuesday, Nov. 5 to face Southeast Community College, then travel to Fort Scott, Kan., to a pair of neutral site games against Evangel University JV on Thursday, Nov. 7, and William Penn University JV on Friday, Nov. 8.
