OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Dallie Hoskinson was not the Lady Cavaliers leading scorer in her team's 89-69 victory over Evangel JV yesterday, but she stole the show with her performance on the floor. Hoskinson became just the fourth player in Johnson County women's basketball history to register a triple-double as she finished with a line of 14 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Hoskinson hit 6-of-9 shots and both her free throw attempts, and eight of her 12 rebounds came on the offensive end.
Hoskinson flirted with a triple-double in the Lady Cavaliers season opening win over Southwestern, finishing with 20 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. She is averaging 13.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.3 assists on the season.
Sophomore forward KK Jackson-Morris was Johnson County's leading scorer with 23 points, her second-best scoring effort of her career. She was 11-of-18 from the field with a 3-pointer. She also pulled down six rebounds. Jackson-Morris is the Lady Cavaliers top scorer through four games averaging 16.3 per game.
Freshman forward LaJahda Boyland recorded her second double-double of the season, finishing with a season-high 16 points to go along with 10 boards. Through the first four games, Boyland is averaging a double-double of 11.0 points and 11.3 rebounds.
Other key efforts were turned in by sophomore Krystal Rice (8 points, 4 assists), freshman Jaylen Townsend (7 points, 5 rebounds) and freshman Le'Yanna McGinnis (7 points, 5 rebounds).
Madi Sutt finished with 16 points to lead Evangel JV.
Johnson County will to improve to 5-0 today when they face William Penn University JV in Fort Scott, Kan. The Lady Cavaliers lead the all-time series with William Penn JV, 13-0.
