OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County women's basketball team, ranked eighth in NJCAA Division II, improved to 5-0 on the season with an 83-35 blowout over William Penn JV at the Fort Scott Classic on Friday afternoon.
Sophomore guard Krystal Rice posted her best effort of her collegiate career, finishing with 27 points. She was 10-of-18 from the field, including 5-of-11 from 3-point range. She also posted four rebounds and four assists.
Sophomore forward KK Jackson-Morris, the team's leading scorer through five games, poured in 20 points. She hit 8-of-13 shots, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range.
Sophomore guard Dallie Hoskinson recorded a double-double with 12 points and game-high 12 rebounds. She also had five assists. In the first game at the Classis on Thursday afternoon, Hoskinson registered a triple-double, the fourth in team history.
Other key efforts were turned in by freshmen Le'Yanna McGinnis and LaJahda Boyland. McGinnis posted six points and 10 rebounds, Boyd had five points and nine boards.
Ivy Hirsh led William Penn JV with nine points.
The Lady Cavaliers return home to host Missouri Valley College Orange Reserve on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m.
