Fast start leads to 76-64 home win over St. Louis

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 2-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team improved to 7-0 on the season with a 76-64 home victory over St. Louis Community College, Saturday afternoon. 

The Lady Cavaliers got off to a fast start, out-scoring St. Louis 29-11 in the opening quarter. Johnson County shot 63 percent from the field, hitting 10-of-16, with two 3-pointers, and 7-of-9 at the line in the first quarter. The defense held the Archers to 5-of-20 shooting for 25 percent. 

Sophomore forward KK Jackson-Morris led all scorers with 24 points. She was 10-of-19 shooting, with a three, and 3-of-3 at the line. 

Freshman LaJahda Boyland posted her fourth double-double of the season, finishing with 12 points and 20 rebounds. 

Sophomore guard Dallie Hoskinson again flirted with a triple-double finishing with 10 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists. 

Johnson County will host Missouri Valley College Orange reserve team on Monday, Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m.  They downed their Purple reserve team 111-34 on Nov. 13.
