OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the third time this season, Johnson County Community College has swept the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II Women's Soccer weekly awards. Sophomore midfielder Lily Marshall was named the Player of the Week, and sophomore Avery Young earned the Goalkeeper of the Week award for the sixth time in seven weeks.
Marshall netted two goals and an assist in the Cavaliers two road victories last week. In a 3-1 win at No. 5-ranked St. Charles, Marshall provided the assist on the game winning goal and scored the final goal to put the game away. Three days later at Allen, Marshall put JCCC on the board in the 35th minute with her fourth goal of the season. JCCC went on to beat the Red Devils 3-1 to extend the Cavaliers unbeaten streak to 13.
Young raised her record to a perfect 12-0-0 on the season with a pair of road victories last week. Young stopped six of the seven shots she faced to preserve a 3-1 victory at No. 5 St. Charles and capped the week with another 3-1 win at Allen stopping two of the three shots she encountered.
