Cavaliers dominate Ottawa JV for second straight blowout win

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the second time in as many days, the No. 9-ranked Johnson County Community College men's basketball team put on a dominant performance, rolling past Ottawa University JV 116-45 Saturday afternoon.

The Cavaliers opened the game on a 10-0 run and never looked back, pilling up 61 points in the first half on their way to another triple-digit victory.

Sophomore guard Joey Robinson had the hot hand, connecting on  10-of-12 shots, with two 3-pointers, for a game-high 23 points. He also led JCCC with five steals and dished out four assists.

Sophomore guard Aidan Wing was equally impressive, knocking down 7-of-8 shots including both 3-point attempts, and was  perfect  from the free throw line (4-for-4) to finish with 20 points and seven rebounds.

Freshman guard Avian Webb added with 17 points while  sophomore Tavian Cruse contributed 14 points to round out the Cavaliers' top scorers.

Other key efforts came from sophomore guard Gavin Harvey (9 points and 7 assists), freshman guard Trey Fulcher (9 points, 6 rebounds), freshman guard Jordan Mason (8 pints, 5 rebounds) and freshman forward Bryce Walker (8 points, 8 rebounds).

With the win, Johnson County improves to 2-0 on the young season. The Cavaliers continue their busy weekend Sunday afternoon,  hosting Avila University JV on Sunday. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
