Fowler, Woods lift Cavaliers past Pratt 2-0

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 16-ranked Johnson County Community College men's soccer team returned to the winning column with a 2-0 win on the road at Pratt Community College Wednesday night.  With the victory the Cavaliers improve to 9-4-4 on the season and 4-1-2 in conference play.

Freshman midfielder Sei Fowler opened the scoring midway through the first half with a spectacular strike from 25 yards out — his first goal of the season.

Johnson County sealed the win late in the match when freshman forward Conor Meyers found Khoi Woods for an insurance goal in the 86th minute. It marked Woods' team-leading ninth goal of the season. He currently ranks tied for second in the conference in goals scored and third in the KJCCC in total points with 21.

Freshman goalkeeper Cooper Burandt recorded his third shutout of the season, stopping all five shots he faced to improve his record to 4-1-1.

Johnson County travels to Beatrice, Nebraska Saturday, October 18,  to face Southeast Community College.
