Johnson County begins search for new men’s soccer coach

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College athletics director Randy Stange announced that a national search has begun for the head coach position for the men's soccer program.

"We will do a thorough search," Stange said. "We'll look for the right fit for Johnson County Community College and the men's soccer program. We are confident that JCCC and the men's soccer team will be led by a coach who desires to impact our student-athletes while leading the program to the success it has seen historically."

While Johnson County will introduce a new coach for the start of the 2020 campaign, the program and college will also unveil a new stadium. A state-of-the-art AstroTurf Grass 3D60 infill system has been installed on the entire playing surface on the northwest side of campus. The new field replaces the natural grass field that constructed in 1995 on the west side of campus.

2020 will mark the 44th season for JCCC men's soccer, and over that span the program has seen tremendous success. Johnson County men's soccer has qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament three times, finishing third in 2001, fifth in 2004 and eighth in 1994. The program has also won 14 Region VI titles and five Kansas Jayhawk Conference championships.

Individually JCCC men's soccer has produced 17 All-Americans, 147 All-Region VI performers, 94 Kansas Jayhawk Conference performers and 43 Conference Players of the Week.
