Cavaliers dominate Allen 6-0 to improve to 4-1-1 on the season

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College men's soccer team exploded for six goals in a 6-nil victory over No. 17-ranked Allen Community College Wednesday night at the JCCC Soccer Complex.  The victory improved the Cavaliers to 4-1-0 overall. 

The six goals scored tie the most in a match under second-year head coach Jeff Cole. JCCC downed Garden City last spring 6-0. JCCC outshot the Red Devils 13-5.

Sophomore Troy Henry scored twice in the first half, netting the first and fourth goals of the match.  His first goal came in the 15th minute on an assist from Andrew Parry

Alan Lopez notched his fourth goal of the season in the 19th minute, and earned the assist on Henry's second score in the 34th minute.

Evan Burns put JCCC up 3-nil in the 26th minute off a feed from George Hanson.

The Cavaliers put two more on the board in the second half. Rajae Lawrence found the back of the net in the 74th minute with an assist from Gene Powell. Four minutes later Hanson picked up his second assist in the match feeding Ismaiel Cisse

Cole Stewart earned his first shutout of his collegiate career, stopping all four shots he faced. 

Johnson County will host No. 15-ranked Cowley College (5-0-0) on Saturday at 4 p.m.
