Cavaliers extend win streak to four straight

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County men's soccer team extended its win streak to four straight with a 4-1 victory over Garden City Saturday afternoon at the JCCC Soccer Complex. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Cavaliers scored four unanswered goals in the second half to improve to 6-3-0 on the season. 

Just one minute into the second half freshman forward Jacksyn McIntyre tied the game with an unassisted goal. It was his sixth goal on the season. 

Johnson County took the lead for good in the 59th minute when freshman midfielder Andy Sloss found sophomore forward Johan Hernandez for his first goal of his career. 

JCCC's final two goals were provided by sophomore forward Alan Lopez. He made it 3-1 in the 62nd minute off a feed from freshman midfielder Dylan Naidu, and closed out the scoring in the 75th minute with an unassisted score.  Lopez leads the Kansas Jayhawk Conference in scoring with 20 points. He also leads with six assists and is tied for third with seven goals scored.

Johnson County will travel across town to take on Kansas City Kansas (1-3-0) on Wednesday, September 14, at 7:30 p.m.
