OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College softball team completed a two-game sweep over Coffeyville Community College with a dominating effort. The Lady Cavaliers did not allow a run in either game, winning 16-0 and 8-0. 

In the opener, sophomore Kerrigan Dixon was key with her bat and arm. She was 3-for-3, with two doubles, three runs and five RBI. In the circle, she scattered six hits over four innings and struck out five batters to pick up the win. 

Other key hitters were Emily Fox and Kelsy Oredner. Fox was 2-for-4 with three driven in, and Orender was 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. 

In the second game, freshman pitcher Hallie Henderson recorded her best performance of the season, hurling a one-hit shutout with nine strikeouts. 

At the plate, freshman centerfielder Megan Weigel and a double and a solo home run and scored twice.  Freshman first baseman Kennedy Thomas had a double and drove in two runs.
