OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College softball team needed to sweep Fort Scott Community College Friday to earn a share of the conference title with Hesston and Highland, and they pulled it off in dominating fashion. The Lady Cavaliers outscored the Greyhounds 20-to-1, winning by the scores of 10-0 and 10-1.  All three teams finished with an 15-5 record in conference play.

Freshman third baseman Alli Heiman had the big bat for the Lady Cavaliers in the opener. She belted a two-run home run and a two-run single and scored twice. Sophomore second baseman Torey Burkhardt also had two hits and two RBIs. 

Freshman righthander Kyleigh Lay hurled a one-hit shutout with a season-high 14 strikeouts to improve to 4-2 on the season. 

In the second game, sophomore first baseman Jordyn Clough led the offense with a home run and three RBIs, and Heiman and DP Lenae Salinas each drove in two runs for JCCC. 

Sophomore righthander Kerrigan Dixon breezed to her 12th win of the season, allowing just one run off three hits with two strikeouts.
