Classroom Champions

From pitching to hitting to the always-tough defense, Johnson County softball teams have always carried on a strong tradition. The Lady Cavaliers have earned many honors for their success on the field.

However, academic achievement in the softball program has drawn national acclaim as well.  The Lady Cavaliers have been  honored as the country’s top academic five teams, first earning that distinction in 1990.  Other academic championship came in 1992, 2000, 2001 and 2004.  The team ranked as the second-best academic team in 1999, sixth in 2002 and seventh in 2003.

Johnson County has produced 58 NJCAA All-Academic performers in its history, and 77 NFCA All-Academic performers. In, 2018, JCCC produced its highest number of NJCAA All-Academic performers with seven.
