OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College women's soccer team had is offense in high gear against Allen Community College, scoring three first half goals on their way to a 5-nil conference victory. 

Freshman forward Kayla Ambrose got the Lady Cavaliers on the board early with a goal just two minutes, 15 seconds into the match. She added a second score, her team-leading 10th goal of the season, in the 38th minute. 

Sophomore forward Kayla Brashear netted the Lady Cavaliers second score at the 7:15 mark. It was her eighth goal of the season, second-most on the team. 

In the second half, sophomore forward Megan Nugent and freshman midfielder Audrey Peterson hooked up for two goals.  In the 71st minute Nugent scored off a feed from Peterson. It was Nugent's second goal this season. Thirteen minutes later Nugent fed Peterson for goal, her fourth on the season. 

Sophomore Kayla Flores, freshman Gail Logan and sophomore Cielo Rivera provided the assists on the first three scores.

The Lady Cavaliers put pressure on Allen keeper Bradi Ore busy all day, firing a total of 24 shots on goal. She finished with a season high 19 saves. 

With the victory, Johnson County improves to 7-4-1 overall and to 4-3-0 in conference play. They travel to El Dorado, Kan., on Saturday, October 5 to take on No. 13-ranked Butler Community College. The Lady Grizzlies suffered its second home conference loss on the season Wednesday, falling 4-2 to Kansas City Kansas Community College. The defeat was not only Butler first-ever loss to the Blue Devils, but the loss also marked the first time Butler had lost two home conference matches in the same season since its inaugural season in 2002. 

Butler handed Johnson County a 1-0 home loss back on September 11.
