JCCC women’s soccer falls 2-1 in double OT at Coffeyville

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community college women's soccer team scored a game tying goal in the final minutes to force overtime, but Coffeyville's goal in 106th minute of second overtime period secured the win for the Ravens in a 2-1 conference match.

With just under two minutes remaining, freshman forward Megan Everhart found the back of the net for her sixth goal on the season off a feed from sophomore midfielder Jillian Rogers to knot the game at 1-1.

Both teams were held in check in the first overtime period, but six minutes into the second extra period, Calixto struck again scoring the game winner. 

Freshman goalkeeper Olivia Seston stopped seven shots in the match. She now stands 3-5-0 on the season with a goals against average of 1.98.

The Cavaliers return to action on Saturday, October 1 when they host Cowley College. The match is set to kick off at 1 p.m.  Follow the action online at jcccathletics.com.
