NJCAA Players of the Week

Elizabeth Casey • Week 3 • September 4-10, 2005

Elizabeth Casey earned NJCAA goalkeeper of the week honors after leading JCCC to a 2-0-1 record that included shutout wins over Neosho County (4-0) and Southwestern Illinois (2-0) and a shutout tie against nationally ranked Iowa Central (0-0).  Casey faced 24 shots on goal in the three games, saving all 24.  

Fivi Mihai • Week 9 • October 23-29, 2005

Fivi Mihai shared NJCAA Division I Player of the Week honors in week nine of the season with Ashley Skeen of Mesa Community College.  Mihai helped lead JCCC to a 3-0-0 recored and a Region VI title, the fourth in team history.  She netted two goals and had an assist in the Lady Cavaliers record-setting 17-0 shutout over Garden City in the first round.  Against Hutchinson in the semifinals, Mihai scored the only two goals of the game in a 2-0 victory, and against eighth-ranked Butler County, she assisted on the only two goals of that game, a 2-0 shutout win.  On the week, she had 11 points on four goals and three assists.  Her 11 points set a team record for points tallied in a postseason.

Danielle Blevins • Week 1 • Sept. 5-12, 2006 / Week 8 • Nov. 1, 2006

Danielle Blevins earned the first and last NJCAA Player of the Week honor for the 2006 season, becoming the first JCCC athlete to earn the Player of the Week honors twice in a season. In early September she was selected after leading JCCC to victories over Florissant Valley and Southwestern Illinois.  Blevins netted five goals and assisted on two other scores in JCCC’s 11-0 win at Florissant Valley.    She followed with two goals and an assist in a 7-2 win over Southwestern Illinois.  In late October, Blevins led JCCC to 3-0 record and Region VI title.  In a 19-0 win over Cloud County she totaled 20 points on eight goals and four assists, setting school record for points and goals.  She followed with two goals and an assist in a semifinal win over Neosho, and capped the tournament with two goals in a 3-0 win over Hutchinson.

Rachelle Luster • Week 7 • October 17-24, 2006

Rachelle Luster became the fourth player in team history to earn Player of the Week honors after a big week in mid-October.  Luster had four goals and three assists in a 12-0 win over Cloud County, and goal and two assists in a 5-2 win at Hutchinson.  Her goal against Hutchinson helped her establish a new season record for points at JCCC.

Whitney Peavler • Week 9 • October 27, 2010

Whitney Peavler earned National Player of the Week honors the final week of the 2010 season after posting two great games resulting in JCCC wins. In the first match against Dodge City, Peavler had two assists in a 9-0 win. In a 9-1 win against Allen, she recorded a hat trick, scoring on all three of her shots. 

Emma Crenshaw • Week 1 • September 7, 2011 / Week 2 • September 14, 2011

Emma Crenshaw was selected the National Goalkeeper of the Week in consecutive weeks to open the 2011 season. Her first honor came after she saved five of six shots to preserve a 1-1 tie against No. 6 Monroe. She was honored again the next week after shutting out two opponents. She saved on shot in an 11-0 blowout over Independence, but followed with five saves in a 2-0 win over Southwestern Illinois.

Tommi Bouknight • Week 3  • September 21, 2011

JCCC again had a player honored in the third week of 2011, only this time it was a position player. Tommi Bouknight led the Lady Cavaliers to three wins, scoring eight goals. She scored the game winning goal in a 2-1 win over Garden City. She followed by hitting all five of her shots in a 8-0 win over Barton, and capped the week with two goals  and an assist in an 8-1 win over Dakota County Tech.

Courtney Hughes • Week 7  • October 6, 2013

Courtney Hughes played a part in eight of the 10 goals JCCC scored in their two wins last week. In a 7-2 win over Garden City, Hughes scored four goals and assisted on one. Two days later she assisted the first and third goals and scored the second, leading JCCC to a 3-0 win over Hutchinson.

Joanna Taylor • Week 3 • September 6, 2015

Joanna Taylor had a big week for the Lady Cavaliers in week three, scoring seven goals with six assists in three victories. She opened the weekend with two goals, including the game winners, in a 5-0 win over Dakota County Tech. A day later, she netted two more with three assists in an 11-0 blowout over Anoka-Ramsey, and capped the trip with a hat trick and three assists in an 8-1 win over Red River.

Sarah Taylor • Week 6 • September 25, 2016

Sarah Taylor led the Lady Cavaliers to three victories with six goals and six assists totaling 18 points during the week of Sept. 19-25, and was named National Player of the Week. She recorded her first career hat trick and had an assist in a 5-1 in a Kansas City Kansas. She followed with two goals and a career high four assists in a 9-0 won over Neosho County. She capped the week with a goal and assist in a 6-1 win over Allen.

Frankie Wiliams • Week 6 • October 3, 2023

Frankie Williams was near perfect in goal during the week of September 27-October 3, 2023. She allowed only one goal while facing seven shots in a 6-0 win over Central Community College-Columbus and 1-1 tie against No. 17 Neosho County Community College.
