Johnson County falls to No. 5 in this week’s NJCAA D-II volleyball poll

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The National Junior College Athletic Association released its weekly Division II volleyball poll today, and Johnson County Community College fell two spots to No. 5. The Lady Cavaliers had held the No. 3 spot the previous five polls. 

Last week, Johnson County posted a 3-2 record, falling on the road to No. 15-ranked Cloud County Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 3-1, and to D-I No. 14-ranked Iowa Western Community College on Saturday, Sept. 28, 3-0.  JCCC's three wins were 3-0 sweeps over North Platte Community College, Central Methodist University JV and Baker University JV.

In 12 seasons as JCCC's head coach, Jennifer Ei has had her team in the national ranking 93 percent of the time (99 of 106 polls) and in the top five 55 percent (58 of 106 polls). 

The Lady Cavaliers take a 15-4 record overall and a 4-1 mark in conference play to Parsons, Kan., for a conference title with Labette Community College Wednesday, Oct. 2. This weekend, the Lady Cavaliers are in Boone, Iowa for the Des Moines Area Community College Invitational. On Friday they face Ellsworth Community College and Waubonsee Community College. Saturday the take on Metropolitan Community College and Rochester Community and Technical College.
