OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the third straight week, Johnson County Community College sophomore forward David Turner has been selected the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men's D-II Basketball Player of the Week.  He was also the week 10 and week 11 winner.  Sophomore teammate Nick Larkin also won the honor in three straight weeks, winning in weeks four, five and six. 

This past week, Turner averaged 14.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.7 blocks while leading the No. 8-ranked Cavaliers to three victories last week. He also shot 74 percent from the field and 88 percent at the line. He began the week with 10 points, six board and six blocks in a 75-87 upset win over No. 4-ranked Highland. His six blocks tie the third-best single game effort in team history.  He followed with 19 points and 8 rebounds and five blocks in an 86-71 road win at Labette, and 14 points and 11 boards in a 76-58 home win over Hesston.  For the season, Turner his shooting 68 percent with ranks fifth in the NJCAA. He ranks second nationally with 62 total blocks.
