OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 5-ranked Johnson County Community College men's basketball team (21-4/4-1) saw its 17-game conference win streak come to an end Saturday afternoon with an 82-68 loss at No. 6 Highland Community College (23-2/5-1). The loss drops the Cavaliers a half game behind Highland in the standings, but they could pull back even with a win tonight over Kansas City Kansas Community College.

The Scotties built a six-point first half lead and managed to add to that total in the second half and secure the win. All five starters for Highland finished in double figures scoring, led by Taiveyhon Mason with 21.

Sophomore guard Nick Lark led Johnson County with 15 points, followed by freshman JaQuaylon Mays with 14 and sophomore General Williams with 12.
