OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recently announced its 2019 All-America teams for all divisions, and Johnson County Community College sophomore guard Nick Larkin was a second-team selection for Division II. He is the 18th player in team history to be honored as a NJCAA All-American, and the 15th under head coach Mike Jeffers. 

Earlier this season, Larkin earned Kansas Jayhawk D-II Conference and Region VI first-team honors. He also was named to the NJCAA National All-Tournament Team and was given the Jack Cistriano Best Small Man Award at the tournament. 

In 2018-19, Larkin averaged 13.5 points, second-best on the team, 6.4 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.8 steals. He led the conference and ranked third in the NJCAA with 210 assists. That total ranks as the fourth-best season at JCCC. Also led the conference and ranked seventh in the NJCAA with a 6.2 assists per game average. 

Larkin scored in double figures 26 time on the season, and topped 20 or more points six times. He produced five doubles and became the first player in team history to produce two triple-doubles. He also produced the greatest game in postseason history for JCCC finishing with a career-high 36 points, a career-high eight steals, along with five rebounds and four assist to lead the Cavaliers to an 85-76 win over Highland to claim the region title. 

Larkin was the Kansas D-II Conference Player of the Week for three straight weeks, from weeks four through six. 

Larkin also produced the greatest game in postseason history for JCCC finishing with a career-high 36 points, a career-high eight steals, along with five rebounds and four assist to lead the Cavaliers to an 85-76 win over Highland to claim the region title. At nationals, Larkin averaged 12.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists. 

In his two seasons, Larkin helped the Cavaliers win a conference championship, two region championships, and place eighth and second at the NJCAA D-II Tournament. 

He scored 789 career points along with 375 rebounds, 376 assists and 117 steals. His career averages were 12.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.9 steals. His 376 career assists rank fourth all-time at JCCC, and 6.0 per game average ranks fifth all-time. He also ranks 12th all-time in career steals, 12th in field goal accuracy at 54.2 percent and eighth in free throw accuracy at 79.6 percent.
