OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Johnson County Community College sophomore guard JaQuaylon Mays averaged 13.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.7 steals and shot 57 percent from the field while leading the No. 1-ranked Cavaliers to three of victories last week. That effort earned the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for week 3. 

Mays had 15 points, five boards, three assists and four steals in an 87-42 win over Graceland JV to open the week. On the weekend at the Highland Classic, Mays had 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals in a 92-54 win over Ottawa JV, and closed out the Classic with 15 points, five rebounds, six assists and a steal in an 81-64 win over Quakerdale Prep. 

For the season, Mays averages a team-best 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals and is hitting 55 percent of his shots.
