OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the fourth time this season, Johnson County Community College sophomore guard JaQuaylon Mays has been named the Kansas Jayhawk D-II Conference Player of the Week, earning the week 10 honor. He also earned the honor in weeks three, six and nine.                     

Mays powered the No. 5 Cavaliers to a pair of victories last week. Mays averaged 18.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals. He shot 59 percent from the field and 82 percent at the free throw line. He began the week with 20 points, nine boards, six assists and five steals in an 84-66 win over Southeast. He capped the week with a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, along with three assists and two steals in a blowout 107-48 win over Ottawa JV. Mays currently ranks third in the conference in scoring, averaging 16.8 per game. He is second in assist at 4.8 per game.
