OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the sixth time this season, and fourth straight week, Johnson County Community College sophomore guard JaQuaylon Mays has been selected the Kansas Jayhawk D-II Conference Player of the Week.  Mays has now won the honor in weeks three, six, nine, 10, 11 and 12. 

Mays averaged 24 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals while leading the fifth-ranked Cavaliers to a pair conference wins last week. He also shot 61 percent from the field and 63 percent from 3-point range. He opened the week with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds in a 79-72 win over Labette. He closed out the week with 25 points, four rebounds and five assists in a 73-57 win at Hesston. 

For the season, Mays leads the team in scoring at 17.6 points per game, and through four conference games he has upped that to 22.3 per game.
