Five Cavaleirs finish in double figures in 103-69 win over MNU JV

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County men's basketball team produced its most balance scoring attack of the season, as five players finished in double figures and four others finished with eight points, to lead the Cavaliers to a 103-69 victory over MidAmerica Nazarene JV, Tuesday night at JCCC Gymnasium. Johnson County is now 9-0 on the season and need just three more wins to match the best start to a season in program history. 

Tymer Jackson, the team's leading scorer through the first nine games, paced the Cavaliers with 15 points, along with four assists, three steals and three rebounds. 

Xavier Kahube followed with 14 points, hitting 7-of-10 shots. He also had six rebounds. 

Damond Daniels came in off the bench for 13 points, going 5-of-6 from the field and 3-of-3 beyond the arc. 

Jaland Whitehead and Bing Haung each finished with 12 points. Whitehead also grabbed nine rebounds. 

Cory Davila was the top rebounder with 10. He was also 4-of-5 shooting for eight points. 

The other top efforts were turned in by Savonni Love (8 points, 6 rebounds); Korey Jones (8 points 6 rebounds, 2 assists) and Seth Chargois (8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals). 

Johnson County shot 53.8 percent and outrebounded the Pioneers 50-to-24. 

Johnson County will look to keep its win streak alive at home against Southeast on Sunday, November 28.  The Storm is the last team to defeat the Cavaliers, winning 90-81 in the consolation bracket at the NJCAA D-II National Tournament last season.
