JCCC improves to 18-0 with blowout win over Hesston

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 2 ranked Johnson County men's basketball team put on a clinic against Hesston, downing the Larks a 92-56 Saturday afternoon at JCCC Gymnasium. The victory also upped the Cavaliers season mark 18-0, the best start ever in team history. 

Freshman guard Tymer Jackson led all scorers with 21 points. He drained 5-of-7 from beyond the 3-point and line and was 7-of-14 overall. He also made both of this free throw attempts. Jackson also led the team with three steals. 

Head coach Rand Chappell also got solid production from his bench. Korey Jones and Seth Chargois each tallied 14 points. Jones was 6-of-14 shooting with two charity shots, and he was the top rebounder with 11 boards, giving him his first career double-double. 

Chargois was even better from the field hitting 6-of-9 shots with two treys. 

Bing Haung was the fourth Cavaliers to post double digits, finishing with 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting with two 3-pointer. 

Other key players were Jaland Whitehead (8 points, 5 rebounds), Savonni Love (6 points, 4 rebounds), Desi Williams (5 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists) and Peyton Downing (6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists).
