JCCC men’s basketball falls in overtime at Southeast, 90-79

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County sophomore guard Tymer Jackson scored a team-high 16 points and sophomore guard Kaleim Taylor followed with 14 points, but it wasn't enough to pull out a victory at Southeast as the Storm outscored the Cavaliers 20-to-9 in overtime for a 90-79 victory.

Johnson county falls to 3-2 on the season, while Southeast improved to 4-2. 

Southeast's Luke Williams and Maijhe Wiley provided most of the damage on Johnson County combining for 54 points. Williams had a game-high 34 points, and Wiley followed with 20. 

Johnson County set season highs for 3-point baskets made (11) and 3-point accuracy (47.8%) but the Cavaliers struggled mightily at the free throw line Wednesday night, making just 12 of 32 attempts for 37.5 percent, while the Storm connected on nearly 83 percent going 24-for-29. 

JCCC sophomore forward Ryan Gordon also finished in double figures with 10 points. Freshman forward Kyler Mann contributed nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds, and sophomore guard Seth Chargois finished with nine points and nine boards 

Johnson County will play two neutral site games this weekend in Highland, Kan. They face On Point Academy on Friday, November 19 at 5 p.m., and Park University JV on Saturday, November 20 at 2 p.m.
