Cavaliers close out non-conference schedule with an 80-62 win at Southeast

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County sophomore guard Massi Malterer poured in 29 points, one shy of his career best effort, to power the No. 10-ranked Cavaliers to a in impressive 80-62 victory at Southeast Community College Sunday afternoon in their final non-conference game of the season. 

Malterer hit 11-of-18 shots with two 3-pointers and was 5-of-8 at the free throw line. He also grabbed five rebounds and had two steals. 

Sophomore forward Kyler Mann followed with 16 points to go along with six boards, and freshman forward Brandon Mann tallied 14 points and hauled down six rebounds.

Radek Pulsipher led Southeast with 19 points, followed by Justin Boils with 12.

Johnson County (13-2) will host its final non-conference game against Kansas Welsyan JV on Tuesday night, January 9, then will open conference play on Saturday, January 13, when they host Highland  Community College (9-6) at 4 p.m.
