OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore outfielder Anthony Amacangelo and freshman right-handed pitcher Trey Ziegenbein hve been selected the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Pitcher of the Week for week 7. 

Last week,  Amicangelo hit .611 (11-of-18) with four doubles, a triple, two home runs, six runs scored and 12 driven in to help JCCC to five wins, including a conference sweep over Highland. Amicangelo leads the NJCAA with a .621 batting average. The next closest is .524. 

Ziegenbein improved to 6-0 on the season after earning a win over Highland last week. Ziegenbein pitched five innings and allowed two runs off three hits with 10 strikeouts, matching his second-best game total of the season. His six wins tie for first in the conference and he leads the league with an ERA of 1.20.
