OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College sophomore shortstop Chris Esposito has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Baseball Player of the Week for week 9. 

Esposito hit .483 (14-for-29) with three doubles, three home runs, nine runs scored and 15 driven in last week for the 6th-ranked Cavaliers. He had a hit in all seven games and multiple-hits in five of them, including a pair of three-hit games. He also had three games with three RBIs and in the final game of the week he drove in a career-high five runs. He also posted a .920 fielding percentage, committing just two errors in 25 chances. 

For the season, Esposito is batting .364 (36-for-99) with 10 doubles, a triple, five home runs, 32 runs scored and 28 driven in. He is also currently riding a season-long nine game hitting streak.
