Kit Pellow became the second outfielder in JCCC history to be named All-American, earning second-team honors in 1994.  That season, Pellow hit .479, with 70 hits and 57 RBI.  He also ripped 13 doubles and school record 20 home runs.  His .479 average led the country, and his 20 homers were second in the NJCAA.  Pellow finished his career ranked in the top 10 in eight career offensive categories, including a school record 29 home runs.  Pellow went on to a standout career at the University of Arkansas.  In 1995, he was named as a fist-team All-SEC performer as a designated hitter.  He hit .342 in his two seasons with the Razorbacks, which ranks him 10th all-time, and .579 career slugging percentage ranks ninth.  In 1995, Pellow led his team in doubles with 16, home runs with 12 and RBI with 55. His senior year, he led the team with 66 runs driven in.  

The Kansas City Royals drafted Pellow and he played his way through the organization, getting called up to the Major Leagues in 2002.  Following the season, Pellow signed as a free agent with the Colorado Rockies, and a year later was the Rockies starter on opening day in the outfield.  In July 2008, Pellow captured the Mexican League Triple Crown after hitting .385 with 34 home runs and 107 RBI for the Saltillo Saraperos.  He is only the seventh player in league history to accomplish that feat.
