Head Athletic Trainer

Head Athletic Trainer Dr. Beth Hembree joined the JCCC Athletic Training Department in August 2017. She oversees the athletic training for all seven sports at JCCC. In addition, Hembree is a clinical site preceptor for Oklahoma State University, University of Kansas, Culver-Stockton University and Saint Mary’s University Athletic Training Programs.

In her eight seasons, Hembree has seen 15 teams finish in the top five nationally, including national championships by the volleyball team in 2020-21 and women's basketball team in 2024-25, and has been a part of 19 region championships and 23 conference championships.

A native of Tulsa, Okla., Hembree graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2009, and received her Masters of Science in Health and Human Performance from Pittsburg State University in 2015. Hembree completed her Doctor of Athletic Training at A.T. Still University in Mesa, Az in May of 2021.  Hembree is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Kansas Athletic Trainers’ Society and Oklahoma Athletic Trainers Association. Hembree is the Vice President of the KJCCC and Region VI Athletic Trainers Organization.

Prior to her arrival at JCCC Hembree was an athletic trainer at Owasso High School for four years where she worked with Football, Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, Track, Cross Country and Women’s Soccer.  She also spent four years at Independence Community College where was the Head Athletic Trainer.  During her time at ICC she helped build the athletic training education program and kinesiology program, while teaching multiple classes in both programs.  She also worked 6 years with Varsity Brands Cheerleading as an athletic trainer.  

Hembree has two daughters, Brecken and Ella.
