OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County sophomore DP/Pitcher Jordan Harrison tied a school record by belting four home runs in the two-game series at Labette to power the Lady Cavaliers to sweep with win of 8-0 and 8-4. The only other player to hit four homers in series is Taylor Nelson against Hutchinson in 2010.

Harrison hit a two-run home run in the third inning and another two-run shot in the fifth in the opening game, and in the second game hit a solo shot in the fourth and had a three-run blast in the seventh so ensure that victory.

Harrison also was the winning pitcher in both contests. In the opener, she tossed a complete-game, two-hit shutout with two strikeouts, and then pitched the final 2.1 innings in the second game, allowing just one hit with two strikeouts as JCCC rallied for the 8-4 win. She now stands 17-2 on the season.

In the opener, right fielder Taryn Burkhardt, shortstop Toree Hoobler and second baseman Emma Smith each collected an RBI single, in the second game center fielder Eve Morris had two RBI and Burkardt and Smith each drove in a run.

Johnson County (28-6/17-1) will close out their regular and conference season this week. They travel to Coffeyville (6-32/0-16) for two games on Monday, May 1 and then host Kansas City Kansas (20-21/8-10) on Thursday, May 4 with the first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. The Lady Cavaliers are tied for first place with Cowley and will need to sweep both final series to ensure at least a share of the title.
