
OVERLANAD PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County women's soccer team kicked off their season last week and posted two comeback victories.
They opened the season with a 3-2 win over Hutchinson, and followed with a 4-2 win over Coffeyville. In both games, JCCC trailed 1-0.
In the win over the Blue Dragons, sophomore Alexis Pittman tied the game with an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute. Sophomore Dani Peters gave JCCC the lead in the 37th minute off a feed from Morgan LaPlante, and in the 57th minute freshman Brock Allen found sophomore Tio Krizogono for what proved to be the game winning goal.
In the win over Coffyville, Krizogono evened the scored a 1-1 at the 21-mintue mark from an assist from Gail Logan. Fourteen minutes later Logan picked up second assist finding Pittman for a score.
Coffeyville managed to tie the game in the 52nd minute, but Logan put JCCC up for good with her first goal of the season in the 66th minute. LaPlante was credited with the assist.
Freshman Athena Dericotte added an insurance goal in the 75th minute off a feed from Krizogono.
