OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 7-ranked Johnson County Community College women's soccer team saw its season come to an end Friday afternoon dropping a 2-1 decision in the North Plains District Championship to No. 5-ranked Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Neb., which earned the Hawks a berth to the NJCAA D-II National Tournament, November 12-18 in Tucson, Ariz.

Johnson County (15-3-2) will now have to wait to see if they receive an at-large bid to compete in the national tournament.

The Cavaliers jumped to an early 1-0 lead when sophomore midfielder Alandra Bailey found the back of the net off a feed from freshman forward Jenna Knight in the 15th minute. It was Bailey sixth goal of the season and 12th of her career. For Knight it was her 10th assist on the year and team-leading 28th point.

Northeast scored the equalizer in the 32nd minute then scored what proved to be the game winner with just 19 seconds left in the half.

Freshman goalkeeper Frankie Williams played the first half and took the loss. Freshman Maddox Fergus took over in the second half and held Northeast scoreless, stopping both shots she faced. Williams finishes the season with a mark of 7-2-2.
