Ei adds Garrett Case to volleyball coaching staff

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College head volleyball coach Jennifer Ei announced the addition of Garrett Case to her coaching staff.

Case comes to JCCC after serving on the staff at Central Missouri University in Fayette, Mo. From 2018-22 and the 2023 season, Case helped lead the Eagles of Central Methodist to a 133-39 overall record and helped them make it to the NAIA National Tournament in each season he was on staff, which included the program's first appearance in 2018, and he was named Associate Head Coach of the Program in 2020. 

Case was named the Midwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year after helping lead CMU to a 29-9 overall record and a fourth-straight appearance in the NAIA National Championship in 2021. He was also tabbed the Heart Assistant Coach of the Year.   

Case coached eight NAIA All-Americans, two HAAC Players' of the Year, one HAAC Attacker of the Year, one HAAC Defender of the Year, two HAAC Freshmen of the Year, 14 All-Region selections, and 35 HAAC All-Conference athletes throughout his five seasons with Central Methodist University. 

In December of 2021, Case was named head coach at William Woods University. During his year stint at Woods, he trained and coached the AMC Defender of the Year and a total of 6 All-Conference athletes. 

Prior to Central Methodist, Case spent one season as the assistant coach at Seward County Community College in 2017. In his lone season on the bench, he helped the team to achieve a 33-2 record, the Western Jayhawk Conference Championship and a No. 3 national ranking. Case also produced five All-Region athletes with one First Team All-American.  

Case also has experience at the NCAA D-I level, serving on the Missouri State staff for four seasons. After spending three seasons as the Bears manager, Case spent 2016 as a volunteer assistant. While at Missouri State, Case worked with statistical analysis and video breakdown, as well as aiding in practice and camps.  

Outside of the college ranks, Case has also coached at the club level for the past 9 seasons, leading multiple 417 Juniors Columbia teams to successful seasons. He led 2 teams to the GJNC in 2017 & 2023. In addition to serving as a coach at 417, Case also was the Director of Player Development, which placed him in charge of all weekly positional trainings for the club. 

Case graduated from Missouri State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, while also holding a minor in Biomedical Sciences.
