OVERLAND PARK, Kan. –  The Johnson County baseball has led NJCAA Division I baseball in team batting average and slugging percentage all season long, and on Tuesday afternoon the Benedictine Ravens a first-hand look at the offensive power the Cavaliers possess.  Johnson County pounded out eight extra base hits, including four home runs, to blow out the Ravens 25-0 at the JCCC Baseball Complex.  The 25-run shutout ties as the third largest in team history.

The Cavaliers scored in five of the seven innings, highlighted by an 11-run outburst in the second, to put them 14-0 at the end of the inning.

Eleven different players drove in at least one run. Freshman outfielder Jackson Galloway, this week's KJCCC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, led JCCC four driven in, three off a blast over the fence.

Freshman catcher Jaxson Wentworth also hit a three-run blast. Freshman infielder Davis Blair had a two-run homer and drove in three and freshman infielder Wyatt Morgan hit a solo home run and had three RBI.

Six Johnson County pitchers combined to hold Benedictine to just four hits and no runs.  Freshman right-hander Hunter Edwards got the start and was credited with his first win of the season.

Johnson Count (38-4) have two conference series remaining in the regular season before postseason play begins. They take on Coffeyville in a four-game series that begins on Thursday, April 29 at JCCC. The series concludes at Coffeyville on Saturday, May 1.
