JCCC baseball pummels Benedictine 31-0

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County baseball team pounded out 19 hits, which included five doubles, a triple, and a home run, drew 17 walks enroute to a 31-0 victory over Benedictine JV on Wednesday afternoon, March 29.  The 31 runs scored are the fifth most in team history, and the 31-0 shutout is the second largest all-time. 

Sophomore shortstop Easton Elliot led the attack with a double, three singles, five runs scored and six driven in. 

Closed behind was second baseman Jordan Black with a single, home run, three walks, four runs and five RBI.

Other key performances were turned by DH Blake Anderson with a single, a walk, two runs and four RBI; first baseman Dagen Brewer with two hits, a walk, three runs and three RBI; centerfielder Jesse Tisdell three walks, four runs and an RBI; left fielder Nicholas Sall with a single and triple,  three walks, five runs and two RBI; third baseman Jason Lazo with a double, two singles, three walks five runs and an RBI; catcher Luke Moore with a single and double, two walks and two RBI; and Drew Norris with a double and two RBI.

Eight JCCC pitchers combined for a no-hitter and 18 strikeouts. Left-hander Jake Porter got the start and the victory.
