JCCC baseball ranked in top-10 in every national baseball poll

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – As the Johnson County Community College baseball program continues to pile up wins, they also continue to move up in the national ranking. This week the Cavaliers are ranked in the top-10 in all six national polls.

Johnson County comes in at No. 2 in the Perfect Game rankings. Thy stand No. 3 in both the NJCAA and National Scouting Bureau polls, and are No. 4 in Dream Big Athletics, No. 5 in JUCO Baseball Blog and No. 6 in Prep Baseball Report rankings.

Johnson County is 36-8 overall on the season and 18-2 in conference play and tied for first place with Cowley, who they face in a four-game, home-and-home series on April 25 and 27.

The Cavaliers have won 17 of its last 18 games heading into Wednesday's conference clash at Labette.  Over that stretch, JCCC has scored in double digits in 10 games highlighted by a 26-run explosion over Coffeyville April 6 and an 18-0 win over Allen on April 11.

Johnson County currently ranks seventh in the NJCAA in batting with a team average of .348. They also are ninth in runs scored with 431, 11th in hits with 468 and 12th in RBI with 371. 

JCCC pitchers have also been dominate this season, ranking seventh in WHIP (1.25) and 10th in shutouts with seven.
