OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The USA All-Star team is currently in the Netherlands competing in the historic Honkabalweek Haarlem, which began on July 12 and runs through July 19. This year's 24-man roster features junior college players from around the country, among the Johnson County Community College right-hand pitcher Ryan Borberg

Other Kansas Jayhawk Conference players who were selected to the team are outfielder Boby Bolin from Barton Community College and right-hander Maclane Finley and shortstop Gehrig Goldbeck of Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Borberg becomes the seventh player from Johnson County to play for the NJCAA USA All-Star Team, joining shortstop PJ Spell and outfielder Scott Hennessey (1980), catcher Brent Chamberlain (1993), outfielder Kit Pellow and pitcher Mike Simmons (1994) and pitcher/outfielder Aaron Schnurbusch (2015).

This past season Borberg came to JCCC this year to establish himself as a ligament starter after spending most of his freshman season at Illinois State as a reliever, and he has succeeded. He made 17 appearances, all as a starter on the bump. He finished 10-2 with two complete games, one shutout, an earned run average of 4.34 and 91 strikeouts in 76 and two-thirds innings of work. His 91 strikeouts and 10 wins ranked fourth in the conference standings and his 10.68 strikeouts-per-nine ratio ranked third. Nationally he ranked tied for 14th in victories and 31st in strikeouts. His 10 wins also rank tied for sixth on JCCC's season chart, and his 91 strikeouts rank ninth. He also ranks second at JCCC in games started.

Twice during the season, he was selected at the Kansas Jayhawk Confernce East Pitcher of the Week, earning the award in weeks three and six. He capped the year by being selected to the KJCCC East Division second-team and was one four JCCC players who appeared in Dream Big Athletics' JUCO Top-30 rankings for pitchers and hitters in 2024.   Borberg was the No. 23 ranked pitcher.

Borberg will continue his career at Dallas Baptist University.
