Roe named NJCAA D-I Baseball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Easton Roe, who was named the Kansas Jayhawk East Conference Player of the Week for the opening week of the season on Tuesday, has also earned national Player of the Week from the National Junior College Athletic Association. This is only the sixth time in team history a JCCC player has been selected as the national player of the week. 

The Johnson County first baseman powered the Cavaliers to a 3-1 series victory at Amarillo College over the weekend, slashing .571/.600/1.714 with four home runs, two doubles, a triple, six runs and a team-leading 10 RBI. He produced multiple hits in three of the four games, including four extra base hits (2B, 3B, 2-HR) with six RBI in a 18-5 win in the third game of the series. 

No. 5 Johnson County is back in action Thursday afternoon, hosting No. 10 Crowder in doubleheader with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. The two teams will close out the series with a doubleheader in Neosho, Mo., on Saturday, February 8.
