OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College pitcher Maggie McNally hurled a no-hit, 1-0 victory over Indian Hills to help the Lady Cavaliers avoid a series sweep.

The right-hander out of Spring Hill High School allowed no hits and no runs over seven innings, striking out eight while walking none.

Sophomore catcher Riahn Pinkerton drove in the Lady Cavaliers lone run in the second inning ripping a triple to drive in sophomore first baseman Kate Ediger who previously hit a two-out double.

The Warriors won the opening game, 5-2, which snapped JCCC's 10-game win streak. JCCC had been held to under five runs just once through the team's first 14 games.

Indian Hill plated four runs in the top of the first off back-to-back home runs.

The Lady Cavaliers got on the board in the bottom of the third. With two outs, second baseman Izzy Carter doubled down the right field line, and scored on double to left field off the bat of sophomore right fielder Taryn Burkhardt

Freshman third baseman Aspen Burgardt cut JCCC's deficit to three with a blast over the right field fence for her seventh homer of the season, third-most in the conference.
