Kolarik nabs KJCCC D-II Softball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference announced that Johnson County infielder Katie Kolarik has been selected the Division II Softball Player of the Week for week four.

The freshman out of Bishop Miege hit .615 (8-for-13) and slugged 1.462 with two doubles, three home runs, four runs scored, and seven RBI at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Georgia. In the opening game against nationally ranked Pearl River, Kolarik belted two home runs which included a solo shot in the third inning and a three-run blast in the fifth inning to drive in four runs in an 11-10 loss.

Kolarik had at least one hit in each game last week and is currently hitting .560 this season with 17 runs driven in.
