OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County pitching staff combined to five up just two hits with 16 strikeouts to lead the Cavaliers to a doubleheader sweep at Allen Saturday afternoon, winning 1-0 and 10-0.

In the opener, Jalin Lavers bounced back after getting roughed up in her previous outing. The sophomore right-hander faced 22 batters and recorded 21 outs. She allowed just one single, to walks with eight strikeouts over seven innings of work. It was Lavers' 11 complete-game of the season and her 12th victory overall.  Her eight-strikeout effort upped her season total to 98, fourth-most in the conference.

At the plate, the Red Devil pitchers were also able to hold the Cavaliers bat in check, scattering six hits. JCCC broke the scoreless tie in the top of the fifth. Freshman outfielder Katie Kolarik doubled to left field and came around to score on a single by sophomore shortstop Izzy Carter.
